NUESTRA HISTORIA
Inicios de Judo en el Centro Okinawense en la Argentina
JUDO COA 在 亜 沖 縄 県 人 連 合 会 It is a Project (perhaps, a dream at the time) that we started together in 2005 with my soul brother Marce PEREYRA, Alberto MUSCIO and José MATOS.
After a difficult initial stage with very few practitioners, little by little, we have been able to gather practitioners, including beginners and advanced practitioners from other DOJOs. Thus, black belts such as Seba VIDELA who would become a fundamental member of the DOJO and kyus such as Hernán SANCHEZ, Germán GUSUKUMA and later, Seba MERCHAN (and all black belts) were incorporated. Also, practitioners from other combat arts such as Carlitos PEREZ, Nacho ASTIGARRAGA and Lucas PRADO joined who, in a short time, became important members of JUDO COA.
It didn't take long for female practitioners like CARIM and BERNI to arrive, who also came from practicing in other DOJOs and who would immediately become outstanding representatives of our DOJO and invaluable collaborators both on and off the mat.
Thus, both beginners and advanced people made JUDO COA their place of belonging, appropriating (in the best sense of the word) the PROJECT started by a few dreamers and little by little, JUDO COA became a great family that works as an oiled team with members very committed to the PROJECT who fulfill different support functions, in addition to daily practice.
Also, over time, we were achieving sporting results, at the beginning, based on the performance of the "veterans" with Huguito GIMENEZ as the standard bearer who made many podiums competing with much younger boys. Over time, the new generations joined with a First NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP obtained in 2016. The best results are yet to come, since we have an important seedbed with enormous potential, thanks to the great work that Seba VIDELA has been doing with the invaluable support of the black belt group.
We had some more recent very valuable incorporations such as Alfredo FONTANA, Roberto FRAGA (and son), Cristian ALDERETE, Guille MUÑOZ or Emiliano CARULLA (from whom we hope he will recover soon and compete again) to whom we are very grateful that they have chosen us to continue the practice of JUDO with us.
We already have several BLACK BELTS that started in the JUDO in our DOJO, with Gustavito BALMACEDA at the head, as well as parents who come to train with their children.
I would like to express my appreciation for the constant support we had from Sensei Juan Carlos IHA, who gives us prestige by the DOJO with his presence, with his knowledge and great experience.
We are also grateful to other prestigious Sensei such as Juan MAETO, Carlos PAZ, Oscar STRÁTICO and Jorge SAIKALI who honor us with their visits.
Also, I would like to remember and pay tribute to the senseis who supported us or who accompanied us in the practices and who are no longer there, starting with Sensei Yoriyuki YAMAMOTO who supported us from the beginning and following Juan LIBRANDI (a great example for the most old), Osvaldo FERRARO (who honored us by bringing his grandson), Roberto GIGLI and Eduardo ZAYAS.
Finally, I would like to express our gratitude to the WFJ and its president, Sensei Antonio GALLINA for the permanent support we receive both at an institutional and personal level, among other things, allowing Sensei Sumio YAMAGATA to visit us periodically and transmit his knowledge to us, such as happened previously with Sensei Masatoshi KIKUCHI, both Senior Volunteers sent by JICA. For our part, we hope to be responding to the WFJ with the active participation of our members in its various activities so that "our FEDERATION" becomes increasingly stronger sportingly and institutionally.
